My interest in photography began my first year of college studying black and white film. Soon after, my husband and I moved from California to Oregon to open a veterinary hospital. It wasn’t until many years later that I was able to pursue photography seriously. At 41, I received my first DSLR, a Nikon 200, and have been hooked ever since. Initially, I focused on landscape photography, but later took an interest in portrait photography. I’m inspired by many great photographers, specifically Irving Penn, Annie Leibovitz, Mark Seliger…just to name a few. I’m always striving to improve my art by trying out new ideas and techniques. I’ve even experimented with video and produced two short films. There is still more for me to learn and discover, and that’s why I continue on this amazing journey.
